Ultra Thin Multiple Access

NComputing.. provider UTMA (Ultra Thin Multiple Access) Technology where using a special device, a simple LAN has the ability of just having one CPU presence.

Taken over the thin-client technology, because it provides a hybrid solutions (hardware + software)

Cost saving ?
1. Maintenance cost (Human cost)
2. Outsourcing cost (NComputing will become the outsourced maintenance partner)
3. Cheaper Windows OS implementation.
Comparing this with cloned PC.
Windows XP for two licenses = RM 600++
4. By taking consideration of 10 PC altogether, 70% of saving (according to the web site), is achievable.

How much can they earn ?
Probably don't earn much.
Economy of scale - Stable income, something like web hosting.

They have to deliver solution, like what Novel did for Linux Suse computing business.

Big Projects?
The principal (NComputing Korea) has potential for big projects with induction of the following technologies:

1. Terminal Server Technology - This is a good technology which can be moulded into other applications. It is similar to emulation/multiplication technology. For instance, mass production of [something] can leverage on its algorithms and processes to achieve accurate results.
2. Windows over IP (WoIP) - Microsoft might want to buy it.
3. SoC Chip Architecture - Microprocessor technology, currently cellphone manufacturing is a lucrative business.

Samsung Electronics - Expected to sell 120 million units of mobile phone in 2006.
LG Electronics - Expected to sell 100 million units of moile phone in 2006.

4. Terminal hardware design - Best practices, they can provide consulting services for other manufacturers.

This business is exciting. I am quite impressed!
