Geocities is phishing

OMG... I got phished from the URL...

http://www.geocities.com/this_cant_be_real_0/

Phishing is a new way of cheating Internet users of their usernames and passwords and even credit card information and etc... where users are hoaxed into believing that a particular URL is what it claimed to be... check out wikipedia explaination for it.

How this work is simple....

Someone just have to pull the trigger... Let's say the defaulter took 100 yahoo emails from the Internet. Then, it all just took 1 user to believe that it is real... it will spark the whole chain reaction...

Nevertheless, this phishing of virus is quite mild.. just meant to irritate you.. My yahoo account was infected and thankfully all it ever did was to send similar message to my contact lists. Not much of other big disasters observed anyway. I hope so...

Anyway, what I did is to change my password.

If you had login to it, please change your yahoo password. (Someone already have your password and might be reading your secret emails...), login to yahoo email and change your password.

Also, don't forget to send similar message to your contact list, you may copy and paste the following message which I sent to my list.

did you receive this from me ?

don't ever login to it.. it is trap to capture your YAHOO username and password.
if you did login, then u must change your YAHOO password now!
this is knowns as PHISHING!
It will use your YAHOO account, get your contact lists and start sending the same thing.
But no need to scan for virus because there is no virus on your PC.
Sorry ya.

People who use Flickr rock!

"Not only does Flickr make you smell better, it also makes you more attractive"
