Job Description
Participate in the Database and Unix/Linux Support team to provide evaluation, installation, administration, monitoring and tuning on the Database Management Systems and UNIX/Linux; work with other teams, users and vendors to deliver a cost-effective and high quality Database and Unix infrastructure.
- University graduate in computer Science or equivalent
- 5 - 7 years of IT working experience in Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase database and/or IBM DB2 administration
- Strong in technical support skills including shell scripting, trouble shooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring tools recommendation, customization, deployment and usage
- Knowledge of SUN Solaris, EMC SAN storage administration and legato backup solution would be an advantage;
- Knowledge of Data Center infrastructure implementation and site preparation
- Knowledge of SUSE Linux (x86/iSeries) , Tomcat and Apache HTTP would be an advantage
- Knowledge of application and infrastructure tools such as CA Autosys, SiteScope, IBM Websphere Application Server and MQ would be an advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Willing to travel
