To Develop Regional Contact Centre Services in Iskandar Malaysia

MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. will partner with Teleperformance, a company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange, the world’s leading provider of outsource Customer Relationships Management (CRM) and contact centre services, to develop and grow the contact centre industry in the State of Johor.

This was announced at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony between MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. and Teleperformance during the World Congress on Information Technology 2008 (WCIT 2008) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 21st May 2008.

The two organizations were represented by Mr. Ganesh Kumar Bangah, the CEO of MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. and Mr. Jeffrey Nah, the Managing Director for ASEAN of Teleperformance. The MoU exchange ceremony was witnessed by Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Y.A.B Dato’ Haji Abdul Ghani bin Othman, the Chief Minister of Johor.

MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. and Iskandar Development Regional Authority (IRDA) recognize the importance and value of providing contact centre services in MSC Cyberport Johor within Iskandar Malaysia. This initiative will help to generate employment and opportunities for new job creation in the State of Johor.

With the pioneer Teleperformance Contact Centre setup and Contact Centre Training Development Program implementation in the State of Johor, Johor will have the opportunity to become a shared services outsourcing hub with focus in contact centre outsourcing, leveraging on Singapore’s position as the regional logistics and financial hub.

“The Contact Centre Training Development Program will be jointly developed by MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. and Teleperformance with full support from Knowledge-Workers Development Initiatives (KDI) of MDeC whereby funding to be identified from the Johor State Government, Iskandar Malaysia or other relevant parties. We hope this program is able to create at least 5,000 employed knowledge workers within 5 years period.” said Ganesh, CEO of MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd.

Jeffrey said, “Selected local colleges and community centres in the State of Johor will be identified as the source of suitable candidates for the Contact Centre Training Development Program and candidates who have successfully completed the Contact Centre Training Development Program will be offered employment by us at our to-be setup contact centre in MSC Cyberport Johor”.

Yesterday, MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd. signed an MoU with Sunil Mantri Realty Ltd. for the development of the 150-acre Bandar MSC Cyberport, the first MSC Malaysia Cybercity in Indahpura, Iskandar Malaysia.
