As a follow-up of announcement of Budget 2010, we have ICON (The Integrated Content Development Programme). It is the brainchild of existing prime minister of Malaysia.
This adds to existing grant options for enterprenuers.
The Integrated Content Development Taskforce (ICON) is intended to help generate wealth for Malaysians through the K-economy by developing sustainable ideas and businesses that would have a long-term positive impact on the social strata of the nation such as creating business ecosystem, employment and a better standard of living.
Types of Grants:
The main idea is analogous to the fact that we should encourage Malaysian to earn USD by leveraging on the Internet while residing in Malaysia to benefit from the so-called low cost of living.
I think it is also a good idea to explore which is to reduce the demand for international content since the Internet is still slow while at the same time, push up the demand for local contents to fill up the demand's gaps.

- ICONedu - Get funds for creating and hosting educational related contents.
- ICONity - Get funds for creating locally oriented social contents.
