Solarwinds Introduces Newest Free Tool: Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor

SolarWinds® Inc. (NYSE: SWI), a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor, a free tool designed to monitor interfaces with sub-second polling for quick and easy troubleshooting.

Several instances of Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor can be launched to monitor bandwidth usage of many interfaces concurrently. The customer enters the device information and log-in credentials, runs discovery to list all available interfaces, then chooses one to monitor. Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor is a small tool that can be minimized while in use to optimize desktop real estate.

“Customers that need really frequent polling will love SolarWinds Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor,” said Josh Stephens, SolarWinds’ Head Geek and VP of technology. “With this free tool, you see what is happening in real time when making changes to the network, or try to catch transient network traffic issues that might be hard to find with slower polling intervals.”

Overall usage of network bandwidth can have a detrimental effect on all network users’ experience. Sometimes, it’s important to know bandwidth at a granular level, especially when troubleshooting or making network changes. Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor is a great, free tool that ensures customers never miss spikes.

A link load balancer can easily boost performance of your network by simply aggregating several broadband internet connections into one. Your business can now utilize all the bandwidth from all connections- not just one, single connection.
