NETGEAR Launches Revolutionary Storage for SMB and Home Users in Malaysia

NETGEAR®, Inc., leading US-based networking company launched its new version of network attached storage (NAS) systems for highly value-conscious SMBs and home users.

NETGEAR’s ReadyNAS systems (ReadyNAS® Duo and ReadyNAS NV) are ranked World Leader by Gartner in the sub-RM15,000 price brand for unified storage products.

According to NetGEAR’s ASEAN Regional Director, Soo Kean Thai, the new storage versions cost 30% less than similar products at twice the data access speeds. The NETGEAR storage products also have a long 3-year warranty and 24/7 support.

The NAS storage market grew over 37% to USD3.7 billion n 2010 (Gartner), becoming important as more digital content are accessed and backed up via mobile devices worldwide. “Many SMBs are experiencing a drastic increase in digital content such as imagery and archival records within the medical or professional service applications,” shares Soo.

The updated photo sharing application allows the private sharing of print-quality photos, without 3rd party services or fees. Both NAS storage systems allow the direct streaming of music, HD movies and photos to TVs, game consoles and TiVo.

Secure Data Access: The mobile app (‘ReadyNAS Remote’) for the iOS, Android, PC and Mac platforms deliver secure 128-bit SSL-level access to the NETGEAR ReadyNAS storage.

The retail prices for NETGEAR ReadyNAS® Duo and ReadyNAS NV start at RM600 and RM1200 respectively.

NETGEAR Penetrates into Malaysia

On 9th November 2011, NETGEAR announced its partnership with local IT-distributor Convergence Networks to establish its presence in Malaysia. According to Soo, the company is embarking on an aggressive partnership and marketing focus to expand the leading-US brand’s reach into the ASEAN markets via established regional value-added resellers and distributors.
