Oracle Corporation,the world's leading enterprise IT solution provider, today announces the international fashion icon, Versace, is using Oracle VM Server for x86 to address the demands of its rapidly expanding data center.
To ensure the IT infrastructure at its data center could meet the growing business demands, Versace launched an upgrade process to replace its aging IT components with lower cost, higher performance solutions.
Versace’s CEO, Gian Giacomo Ferraris shares, “Our ultimate goal is to improve application deployment time, increase performance and save on IT costs.” By choosing Oracle VM, Versace is enabled to reduce virtualization-related costs by 50 percent, while doubling the number of cores in production.
Versace has also been able to reduce its physical number of servers by 40 percent, rack space by 25 percent and power consumption by 45 percent at its data center with the Oracle VM-based architecture, which also leverages Oracle Linux,
In addition, Versace also relies on Oracle Database, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Hyperion solutions, Oracle Business Intelligence and BI Publisher and Oracle Warehouse Builder to power its critical business operations.
