Jan 18, 2013 - Malaysian business angels under a single umbrella

Malaysian Ministry of Finance agency Cradle Fund has launched the Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN) to encourage the growth of accredited angel investors in Malaysia with education and training support.

"MBAN is an umbrella body that functions like a trade organisation, driving regional and international linkages between angel investors," said Nazrin. "It formalises and coalesces angel investment in Malaysia - currently informal and somewhat unstandardised."

The setup hopes to recruit more investors and increase investment values to help bridge the early stage investment gap.

Jan 11,2013 - Windows Phone 8 platform to drive mobile app content: MDeC

MSC Malaysia 'ICON' (Integrated Content Development) programme aspires to help up to 100 ICON developers learn about the Windows Phone 8 platform and build a knowledge base for technical expertise.

In addition to the training, Nokia will offer its Nokia Premium Developer Program (NPDP), a quick start-up programme that provides developers with the right tools and services, as well as introduce new monetisation and analytics capabilities including Nokia Ad Exchange.

The ICON and Nokia collaboration announcement was held in conjunction with a roadshow to launch the latest Nokia Lumia 620.

Google's g2g program encourages googlers to share knowledge with other googlers, such as engineers teaching programming to non-engineers and vice versa.

Such initiative reaps many benefits and is the fundamental building block for human development of an organisation.

Personally, I reckon this as a best practice for every organisations to follow.

Intel released beta open source software, called GraphBuilder, to help data scientists in industry and academia to rapidly develop new applications that draw insights from Big Data.
