Back in July 2012, Werebits Sdn. Bhd. launched its Digital Loyalty Card solution. It is intended to digitize paper-based loyalty card which is common these days, especially amongst the retail and F & B industry.

The solution is branded as ChopInk. There is no specialized hardware required, all retailers need to do is to print out the customized QR Code from the system. Customers will require to download the mobile app, ask for the QR code from the retailers and then scan the code using their mobile devices.

The mobile app supports iOS and Android platform. Retailers who signed up will just need to pay monthly subscription to have all of it running.

Today, Moo Cow signed up with ChopInk to adopt paper-less loyalty system to serve its customer better. ChopInk will also integrate its Moo Cow’s Point-of-Sales (POS) system. By integrating its POS system with the mobile-based loyalty app, Moo Cow hopes to revolutionize the way it attracts, engages and retains customers in the mobile age.

According to Clifford Too, CEO of Moo Cow, the adoption of ChopInk paths the way for its business objective to go international, first by adopting contemporary consumer trends such as paper-less and mobile computing trends.

“In retail and F & B industry, it is important to understand your customers in order to retain them,” said Clifford about trends and challenges in the industry. Indeed, to thrive in the industry in which business dynamics fluctuate rapidly due to changes in consumer behaviours on a continuous basis, the first thing to do is to know your customers and to do that, one needs data.

Moo Cow previous paper-based loyalty cards system was a hassle as it involved manual data entry and was unable to provide much information about demographics, behaviours and etc from a single source. Now with ChopInk adoption, Moo Cow will be able to identify, track and interact with regular customers to refine future customer engagement strategies.

Ho Heng Yew, Marketing Director of Werebits said that adoption of ChopInk by Moo Cow allows it to identify regular and inactive customers and to customize their own loyalty program that reflects their distinct brand. According to Ho, retailers can leverage ChopInk to run multiple loyalty programs and offer rewards for multiple purchases. They can also set up automated follow ups with customers on special occasions like birthdays and rewards expiries, to engage irregular customers into becoming frequent buyers.

In conjunction with the signing ceremony, Moo Cow and Werebits also announced a joint marketing campaign whereby Moo Cow customers who have downloaded the ChopInk app will stand a chance to win an iPad mini worth RM 999 with loyalty stamps obtained from each Moo Cow yoghurt purchase made from 1st April to 8th April 2013. The person with the most number of loyalty stamps obtained will be declared the winner. The winner will be announced on Moo Cow’s and ChopInk’s Facebook page after the campaign and will aos be notified via email.
