Mumbai & New York – May 29th 2013 – Tata Comm. FY2013 Consolidated Gross Revenues up 21% YoY

Tata Communications has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and year-ended March 31st 2013.

Consolidated gross revenues improved by 21% to Rs. 172,130 million (USD 3,165 million @avg. Fx of INR/USD 54.38) in FY2013 as compared to Rs. 141,961 million (USD 2,963 million @avg. Fx of INR/USD 47.91) last year. The Core Business revenues stood at Rs. 153,181 million (USD 2,817 million) from Rs. 124,580 million (USD 2,600 million) in FY2012, marking a growth of 23%.

Consolidated gross revenues grew by 11% to Rs. 44,005 million (USD 812 million @avg. Fx of INR/USD 54.19) in Q4 FY2013 from Rs. 39,613 million (USD 787 million @avg. Fx of INR/USD 50.34) in Q4 FY2012. The Core Business revenues improved by 12% at Rs. 39,345 million (USD 726 million) from Rs. 35,091 million (USD 697 million) in the same quarter last year.

Reuters, May 28, 2013 - Singapore requires online news to get licenses

Reuters reported that Singapore's Media Development Authority (MDA) requires online news portals with substantial outreach to acquire valid licenses.

The MDA identified sg.news.yahoo.com, a service run by Internet giant Yahoo Inc, as among 10 sites that would be affected by the new requirement, based on criteria such as having 50,000 unique visitors from Singapore a month over a period of two months.

Tata Communications has announced that it has signed a five-year strategic voice sourcing agreement with Vonage Holdings Corp. This partnership is a first of its kind between Tata Communications and a major Over-The-Top provider.

Through this agreement, Tata Communications will provide Vonage with access to its global network and on-going investments in systems, tools and processes to improve voice call quality.
