PR - Sep 22, 2017 - Thailand Pivots Digital Strategies and Seeks to Grow Tech Sector with an impact on GDP

Thailand is hosting the Southeast Asia’s largest digital and technological exhibition - Digital Thailand Big Bang (DTBB) 2017, where in all aspects of digital partnerships will be formed with the Organization for Economic Cooperation Development, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the General Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) in developing and accessing investment for Thai digital start-ups and building cybersecurity.

Participating along are Malaysian digital startups across the finance and logistic industry, including RunCloud, EasyParcel, BolehCompare and HelloGold along with Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) to showcase their innovative and disruptive tech solutions.

The Digital Thailand Big Bang (DTBB) exhibition is taking place at the IMPACT Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, September 21-24 2017. Start-up founders, venture capitalists and executives from many of the world’s leading digital technology companies will be in attendance. Start-ups from across Asia, Africa, Europe, the US and, of course, Thailand will vie for prizes and funding. In addition, companies developing AI, robotics, drone technology will demonstrate products and seek to build commercial relationships.

PR - Sep 20, 2017 - U Mobile Signs Telco-Assurance MOU With MPI Generali

U Mobile today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MPI Generali Insurans Berhad to provide general insurance solutions to U Mobile’s base. This partnership is important as U Mobile customers will now be able to subscribe, manage, and view their general insurance coverage entirely via their mobile phones.

U Mobile’s relationship with MPI Generali started in 2016 when the insurance company provided travel insurance solutions to the telco’s long-term customers via its loyalty programme called ‘U Special’. The response was very encouraging and that led U Mobile to strengthen the partnership with MPI Generali further by extending the services to include other forms of general insurance, and at the same time make the services available to all its customers.

The MPI Generali general insurance solutions is set to be available to U Mobile customers from the second quarter of 2018.

With more than 20,000 visitors showing up to check out and experience the very best from school-going youths who worked hard on their digital projects, Malaysia’s first-ever science and technology fair – the #mydigitalmaker Fair 2017 – is considered a major success.

This two-day youth-engagement event, which opens its doors at KLCC Hall 6 last week (16 and 17 September 2017) and held in conjunction with the Petrosains Science Festival 2017, focused on creating awareness amongst students and parents on how technology will play a huge part in the future job landscape. It also celebrates the ingenious creations and achievements of top young digital maker talents as it further inculcates their passion in digital making.
