Sep 6, 2018 - SG - WeChat helps overseas businesses capture fast-growing opportunities with outbound Chinese travelers

Wechat is proud to facilitate overseas businesses in capturing the thriving opportunities of Chinese tourism through its ecosystem as well as a range of features tailored for outbound Chinese travelers.

Recent statistics released by the China National Tourism Administration indicate that Chinese tourists traveled all over the world 131 million times last year, up by 7% from 2016. These developments present significant opportunities for businesses as well as the global travel industry, with WeChat as an effective platform for tourism boards, local attractions and merchants to address the growth and demands of travelers from China.

Lionel Sim, WeChat Global Marketing (right) and Law Yock Song, Senior Manager, Southern China, Singapore Tourism Board, share with an audience of more than 150 Singapore businesses from the travel sector about how WeChat can facilitate businesses in capturing the thriving opportunities of Chinese tourism through its ecosystem as well as a range of features tailored for outbound Chinese travelers.

To demonstrate WeChat’s effectiveness in better connecting with Chinese tourists and its capability to provide support in formulating in-market solutions and reach out to key target audience segments, a WeChat Workshop was held yesterday in Singapore together with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Selected successful partner case studies were showcased, including Changi Airport, Mastercard, NETS and StarHub, highlighting the WeChat ecosystem and its unique features such as Mini Programs and WeChat Pay.

Sep 5, 2018 - Time is First Telco in Malaysia to Deploy T-Bot

The T-Bot is a smart chatbot powered by IBM Watson assistant.

Named T-Bot, the chatbot runs on IBM’s Watson Assistant and is trained with over 1,000 intents, question variants and entity aliases. It uses Natural Language Processing capabilities to understand questions, provide instant and comprehensive replies, perform basic troubleshooting and route more complex questions to customer service agents.

Sep 3, 2018 - JBIX - 2nd Internet Exchange Launches in Malaysia

Extreme Broadband Sdn Bhd (Extreme Broadband) today announced the launch of Malaysia’s second Internet Exchange, the Johor Bahru Internet Exchange (JBIX) that will bridge the gap of directly connecting non-ISP businesses to the Internet Exchange that will enhance the internet surfing experience of Malaysians.

At the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, Germany, scheduled to begin from Friday, August 31 (local time), Sony Corporation is set to showcase an array of its latest products featuring cutting-edge technology.

Sony unveiled WH-1000XM3, the newest addition to the 1000X series of wireless noise cancelling headphones. This new model boasts major improvements to its industry-leading Noise Cancellation technology with the newly-developed HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 to deliver approximately four times greater performance.

The newly-developed component can not only negate low-range noises from airplanes, but also further cancels mid to high-range noise such as street noise and human voices.
