Digi, as we have predicted previously.. is planning for a come-back to counter the lost of award for a valid 3G spectrum.
According to The Edge... Digi will engage Siemen to expand mobile broadband network over EDGE.
This is pretty good for consumer because expectedly, should Digi able to present a strong case of using EDGE as alternative for 3G technology, its service offering should be cheaper than that provided by Maxis and Celcom in order to attract lost-confidence.
The timing is right now because the market for 3G and high-speed mobile data is not yet saturated, further dimmed by the fact that the asian market is lacking stability which hurts consumer behaviour.
In the mean time, digi has been named mobile operator of the year for Malaysia by Asian Mobile News.
