The ASOCIO has announced Looi Kien Leong as its 13th President. The appointment was endorsed by the General Assembly held in Melbourne, Australia on December 15, 2009. As the president, Looi envisages that ASOCIO would play a strategic role in the region’s economic recovery on the premise that ICT is the driver and enabler of growth of the economy.
Having been involved in the industry for almost 30 years, Looi is no stranger to the international ICT circle through his active participations in various industry groupings. He has been active in ASOCIO for past decade, having served as Vice President and Director in previous ASOCIO Boards. Looi is a former chairman of PIKOM and currently serves as advisor and heads PIKOM’s International Affairs Committee. He also chairs the Global Trade Committee of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA).
