DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) is making it easy for customers to win close to RM1 million in prizes with its latest SMS trivia activity, the DiGi Senang-Senang Menang contest.
For eight weeks beginning 18 April 2011 to 12 June 2011, DiGi prepaid customers stand a chance to drive away a brand new Honda City every week. Additionally, win daily prizes consisting of 56 units of the Apple iPad2 32GB and 56 units of WayWay GPS devices can also be won, by merely answering a series of general knowledge questions and collecting points.
Praveen Rajan, DiGi’s Head of Mobile Internet and Advanced Data Services said, “The contest is a great opportunity for us to reward our loyal customers in a unique and relevant way, through a fun trivia challenge that rewards them richly for doing what they love. To date, we have more than 100,000 contest participants and look forward to more.”
The company also announced the contests’ first weekly and daily winners today, with Benjamin Ng driving home the first Honda City of the competition, while Lim Sian Hwa and See How Kiat taking home the initial units of the Apple iPad2 and WayWay GPS device accordingly.
Commenting on his big win, 23-year-old computing student Benjamin Ng said, “I joined-up the moment the contest started and learned new things daily by answering the general knowledge questions either by myself or researching the internet and it obviously paid off. I initially joined the contest because I wanted to win an iPad, so imagine my shock to hear I had won the car instead!”
To join the DiGi Senang-Senang Menang contest, customers need only send ON WIN for contents in English or ON MENANG for contents in Bahasa Malaysia to 2882, which costs RM3 a day. Once registered, participants will receive mobile content such as news alerts, sports facts, horoscope, Callertunes, including the free contest question.
Participants will have 24 hours to answer as many questions as they can. Points are given for the correct answers and are accumulated on a daily basis. Participants earn one point for normal questions and five points for bonus questions.The two people with the highest points accumulated for the day will win the two daily prizes, while the highest points accumulated for the week will win the weekly prize.
