Google Buys Motorola Mobility

Not too long ago, we had Microsoft acquiring Skype for $8.5 bn.

Such shopping spree is not going to end in this model of economy and especially in the technology industry.

Now Google is buying Motorola Mobility for $12.5 bn.

Since when is an open source software based company buying a manufacturer ? It is Google we are talking about.

There are many theories proposed by industry analysts.

My comments is that this follows the industry trends of acquisition and consolidation, which rewards monopoly and penalizes competition.

It reduces jobs and creates wealth for the elites.

This is a trend and it is just going to keep happening anyway.

Motorola phone is expected to see a surge in sales pretty soon.

and ya, Google is dead serious about the future of Android; that is because it is their baby.

Find out more on available Android Tablet PC currently in the market. Part 1 and part 2.

On competition with Apple, Google is actively acquiring new companies while Apple has always been out of limelight for this regards. Apple is still Apple with their very 'godly' culture and their own closed-border technology ecosystem. Google has always been at the open source side and Google hasn't got a programming language of its own yet.

On business sense, I think Google is finally going to have something to sell other than Adsense. That is a good thing, I would consider this option myself.

On entrepreneurship, making a difference is getting ever harder. You have to co-exist.
