The vibe is tuning up for virgin 2013. In nutshell, Brocade made two signification appointments. Juniper Networks announced add-on for its Partner Advantage Program.

And the first units of the New BMW X3 xDrive20i Sports Activity Vehicle was driven out from the BMW Assembly plant in Kulim, further increasing premium automaker’s investment and commitment in the country.

Groupon also announced new appointment for its country GM.



Jan 17, 2013 - Groupon Malaysia Promotes Rafiq Razali as Country GM

Groupon Malaysia has officially promoted Rafiq Razali, former Head of Sales, to the position of Country General Manager as of 1st January 2013.

“Rafiq has been a core member of the Groupon team since joining us in 2011 and has been influential in overseeing the implementation of some of our most successful product offerings, such as our wildly popular Groupon Getaways travel deals as well as our National segment deals. A First-Class Honours graduate in Actuarial Science from Pennsylvania State University, Rafiq brings with him a wealth of experience in business development working with multinational corporations both here in Malaysia and in the US. In his new role he will be responsible for the oversight of Groupon Malaysia’s Sales, Operations and People Development portfolios with the aim of further reinforcing the company’s position as Malaysia’s leading social e-commerce platform.

Jan 16,2013 - Brocade Appoints Johnson Chiu to Lead Channel Strategy in APAC

As part of a global strategy to focus on growing revenues through the channel, and building on a strong and established channel business in the region Brocade® appointed Johnson Chiu to the role of Channel director, Asia Pacific (APAC). The role will see Mr. Chiu spearhead partner enablement strategies and programs designed to grow Brocade IP networking revenues through channel partners across key industry segments in APAC.

Mr. Chiu will be responsible for driving Brocade channel strategy with distributors, resellers and systems integrators across the region, and driving initiatives that are unique to partners in the region, to help them develop new skills and address major technology trends such as mobility, big data analytics and software-defined networking (SDN).

Mr. Chiu is based in Singapore, and reports directly to Brocade’s vice president for APAC, Charlie Foo. “Johnson is a foremost IT channel talent in APAC, and it is our pleasure to welcome him to the Brocade regional leadership team,” said Foo. “Johnson’s appointment is both a strategic and timely one as we continue to chart new growth across the region in tandem with the expected increase in worldwide IT spending in 2013. Johnson will play an instrumental role in furthering Brocade’s partner business success in APAC.”

An industry veteran with 27 years of channel leadership experience, Chiu was most recently with NetApp where he led the Channel, Alliance and Marketing organization in the Greater China region. He has also held channel leadership roles at Digital Equipment, Oracle, Symantec and Brocade.

Jan 15,2013 -Juniper Networks Announces Expansion of Partner Advantage Program

Juniper Networks, the industry leader in network innovation, announced the expansion of its Partner Advantage program to incorporate services and cloud solutions, at its second annual Global Partner Conference in Las Vegas. The program, which launched in 2012 and now supports more than 12,000 partners, is designed to reach, reward and accelerate partner offerings. Today, to help partners deliver incremental value to their customers, the company outlined its partnering strategy for cloud offerings, and a range of new support, maintenance and professional partner services.

This expansion will include two programs:
  1. The Juniper Partner Advantage Services program will enable partners to go-to-market with a range of value-added services across the entire infrastructure that help drive improved efficiency, incremental revenue and build customer loyalty. In addition, the integrated product and services offering from Juniper Networks will simplify and reward partner efforts across professional and services specializations.
  2. The Juniper Partner Advantage Cloud program will help enable partners to bring valuable, high-performance cloud-ready solutions to market. Juniper’s strategy is to acknowledge partner cloud service and infrastructure capabilities and connect them with Juniper’s technology partnerships to create cloud-ready bundles that are easier for providers to deploy and manage. Jan 15,2013 - Brocade Names Lloyd Carney as Chief Executive Officer

Brocade announced that its Board of Directors unanimously appointed networking industry veteran Lloyd Carney to the position of chief executive officer effective immediately. In addition to his role as CEO, Mr. Carney will join Brocade’s board of directors. Mr. Carney succeeds Michael Klayko, who has served as CEO since 2005.

Mr. Carney, 50, has built a distinguished career during his nearly 30 years in the high-tech industry including a number of senior leadership positions at various networking and semiconductor companies. Most recently, Mr. Carney was CEO and member of the board of directors at Xsigo Systems, a privately held company specializing in data center virtualization, where he positioned the company to take advantage of emerging technology opportunities including cloud computing and software-defined networking.

Previously, Mr. Carney was CEO of Micromuse, Inc., which specialized in network management software and later became an integral part of the IBM Tivoli framework. Mr. Carney has also held key senior leadership positions at major networking companies including Juniper Networks as its chief operating officer and at Nortel Networks as president of its multi-billion dollar Core IP, Wireless Internet and the Enterprise divisions. Mr. Carney also served at Bay Networks as the executive vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Business Group, the company’s largest business unit.

Jan 14, 2013 - Brocade Awarded Permanent Injunction in Intellectual Property Theft Case Against A10 Networks

Brocade announced that a San Jose federal court confirmed a $60 million damages verdict against A10 Networks and entered an order permanently enjoining A10 from infringing on Brocade's patents involving technologies for Global Server Load Balancing and High Availability. The Court enjoined A10 from "making, using, selling, or offering to sell in the United States, or importing into the United States any AX series application delivery controller that includes features that infringe" on these asserted claims.

Jan 10, 2013 - BMW Group Malaysia Introduces New, Locally Assembled BMW X3 xDrive20i.

BMW Group Malaysia announced the introduction of the new, locally assembled model of the BMW X3 xDrive20i, an entirely new production series to be assembled at BMW Group Malaysia’s Assembly Plant in Kulim, Kedah.

Introducing the new BMW model, Dr. Gerhard Pils, Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Malaysia said, “The introduction of the new BMW X3 xDrive20i marks the fourth model line we have introduced here at our assembly facilities and further increases BMW Group Malaysia’s investment and commitment in the country. Jan 9, 2013 - The Nomad Offices Embarks on Document Imaging and Workflow System

The Nomad Offices, the leading local provider of serviced offices has today announced its partnership with Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Malaysia Operations on a project to improvise the document management services for its tenants.

Prior to the collaboration, The Nomad Offices relied on a semi-auto approach for all document management’s account processing. In June 2012, The Nomad Offices started the Business Centre System (BCS) development to centralize its communication server to one location, as well as deploy voice mobility and unified communications. The collaboration with Fuji Xerox aims to create a single interface for The Nomad Offices administrator to subscribe new tenants, and upload their information into its ApeosWare Management Services (AWMS) server, which will be integrated into the BCS development. The integration will enable new tenants to immediately use the facilities provided in the serviced offices. The project will greatly improve The Nomad Offices’s delivery of services to its tenants as it improves the company’s operational and process efficiencies in an economical and productive way.
