Feb 1, 2013 - WeChat Surpasses 300 m user Accounts Globally in Just 2 Years

WeChat took 433 days to flourish with 100 million user accounts last March. It then took merely six months before it achieved 200 million user accounts last September and has now broken the 300 million user accounts mark in just merely four months. Known as one of the most fast-growing, progressive mobile messaging application, WeChat’s success is driven by its multifaceted but user-oriented features which lead to better user experiences.

On Feb 3, 2012, the company announced that WeChat will remain a free service and directly challenge competitor Whatsapp for market share.

But I wonder what is their strategy to make money ?

Feb 1, 2013 - Netflix CEO fights for the right to post company milestones on Facebook

What seems to emerge was Netflix CEO's decision to leverage on Facebook for its public announcement has landed on the wrong track in terms of Securities and Exchange Commission's standard.

Apparently, Facebook is not considered to be a official media which cater for a wide range of viewers.

Jan 29, 2013 - Investors Acknowledge Mayer's Efforts and Upgrade Expectation

Marissa Mayer successfully defended Yahoo's value which saw gained of 30% since her took over in July 2012.

Mayer's strategy for Yahoo has always been associated with mobile. On Dec 11,2012, Yahoo revamped its popular Yahoo webmail. This is in line with her long term strategy to focus on products; allowing users to spend more time, reap more benefits and subsequently spend more money on them.

The new offering includes the latest and most complete set of Office applications; works across up to five devices, including Windows tablets, PCs and Macs; and comes with extra SkyDrive storage and Skype calling — all for US$99.99 for an annual subscription, the equivalent of US$8.34 per month.
