Petaling Jaya, 12 June 2012 – Motorola Solutions, Inc., announced that Electcoms Berhad, the largest trunk radio system operator and service provider in Malaysia has implemented MOTOTRBO Digital Radio System to benefit trunk radio users in Malaysia who can subscribe to Electcoms communication services.
Motorola Solutions, the leading provider of business and mission-critical communication solutions and services for enterprise and government customers has successfully deployed its MOTOTRBOTM Digital Radio System for Electcoms which will provide reliable coverage across the west belt of Peninsular Malaysia from Padang Besar to Johor Bahru.
The decision by Electcoms to implement MOTOTRBOTM’s digital radio system is timely and aligned to efforts by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to migrate all public trunk operators from the analog frequency of 800Mhz to a digital frequency of 410-430MHZ by end of the 2015 to ensure better efficiency for users.

- The deployment includes MOTOTRBOTM Connect Plus System, a multi-site digital trunking two-way radio system (UHF 410-430MHz frequency band) for over 20 sites across the west belt of Peninsular Malaysia.
- Digital radios from MOTOTRBOTM portfolio available for users are XiR P8260 and XIR P8268 portables and XiR M8260 and XIR M8268 mobile radios.
- MOTOTRBOTM Connect Plus System make it possible to expand communications beyond just voice communications. Integrated GPS can be applied to give customers’ mobile workforce access to real-time location tracking to enhance occupational safety and operational efficiency.
- Applications such as fleet management, location tracking via GPS, messaging service and Work Order Ticket Management can be enabled to streamline business operations for improved productivity, work group effectiveness and efficiency.
- Motorola Solutions also established a MOTOTRBO Experience Centre at Electcoms office in Petaling Jaya to help create awareness and educate users and customers about the advantages of digital radio solutions and applications that will benefit businesses.
