For the third consecutive time, IDC Storage Users Demand Study (SUDS) has named EMC the #1 storage vendor for both revenue and storage capacity shipped. The study, which concentrates on analyzing current and future deployments of enterprise storage systems, estimated that EMC led the market with 26.3% of the overall external enterprise storage systems terabytes shipped in 1H13, and 30.8% revenue share.

Ovum - Sep 30, 2014 - PayPal divorce from eBay welcomed
“The decision to split PayPal from eBay next year is a smart move that will benefit the payments provider. PayPal’s revenues are not yet as big as eBay’s ($9.9bn and $7.2bn, respectively) but the gap is closing and PayPal is the faster growing business with 19% revenue growth year-on-year.
At the same time, eBay now represents less than a third of PayPal's total payments volume. An independent PayPal will have the freedom to set its own strategic agenda terms in of management, investments, and priority areas for development. A standalone PayPal should be able to move more quickly and innovate more sharply, which is important given that the payments provider is facing increased competition on all fronts, from hungry start-ups like Stripe and Square to powerhouses like Amazon and now Apple that has 800 million iTunes accounts on file compared to 152 million active accounts for PayPal.

P1 - Sep 30, 2014 - TM Completes Investment into P1
TM Berhad announced that the investment agreement for its partnershp with Green Packet Berher and SK Telecom Co., for the three parties to share in the ownership and collaborate in the future; applicable approvals, including from the relevant regulatory bodies and Green Packet shareholders have been duly obtained.
Following the completion, TM emerges as the new holding company for P1 with a shareholding of 55.3%; and the remaining 44.7% is shared between Green Packet (31.1%) and SK Telecom (13.5%).

A new study from telecoms specialist firm Analysys Mason shows Internet players invest over USD30 billion per annum in physical networks, facilities and equipment, and nearly USD100 billion between 2011 and 2013. The lion’s share of this (USD30 billion over three years) goes to Europe.

Ovum - Sep 30, 2014 - PayPal divorce from eBay welcomed
“The decision to split PayPal from eBay next year is a smart move that will benefit the payments provider. PayPal’s revenues are not yet as big as eBay’s ($9.9bn and $7.2bn, respectively) but the gap is closing and PayPal is the faster growing business with 19% revenue growth year-on-year.
At the same time, eBay now represents less than a third of PayPal's total payments volume. An independent PayPal will have the freedom to set its own strategic agenda terms in of management, investments, and priority areas for development. A standalone PayPal should be able to move more quickly and innovate more sharply, which is important given that the payments provider is facing increased competition on all fronts, from hungry start-ups like Stripe and Square to powerhouses like Amazon and now Apple that has 800 million iTunes accounts on file compared to 152 million active accounts for PayPal.

P1 - Sep 30, 2014 - TM Completes Investment into P1
TM Berhad announced that the investment agreement for its partnershp with Green Packet Berher and SK Telecom Co., for the three parties to share in the ownership and collaborate in the future; applicable approvals, including from the relevant regulatory bodies and Green Packet shareholders have been duly obtained.
Following the completion, TM emerges as the new holding company for P1 with a shareholding of 55.3%; and the remaining 44.7% is shared between Green Packet (31.1%) and SK Telecom (13.5%).

A new study from telecoms specialist firm Analysys Mason shows Internet players invest over USD30 billion per annum in physical networks, facilities and equipment, and nearly USD100 billion between 2011 and 2013. The lion’s share of this (USD30 billion over three years) goes to Europe.
Europe is the largest destination for this investment: over a third, amounting to USD10 billion annually, goes into European networks and facilities. This recognises Europe’s role as a hub for Internet traffic. Many international cables meet in Europe. It hosts the world’s largest IXPs, and has a large population of Internet users. As a result, it is attracting investment by US companies, especially in data centre facilities, as well as investment by local Internet players such as Spotify and the BBC.
