PR - May 28, 2015 - Microsoft announces two new Microsoft Authorized Reseller Store in The Gardens and One Utama

Microsoft Malaysia today announced that it will be opening additional two Microsoft Authorized Reseller stores this weekend. These stores, situated in The Gardens Mall and One Utama, will be open for business from Saturday, 30th May and Sunday, 31st May respectively.

Similar to its first two stores, launched in KLCC and Sunway Pyramid, these authorized reseller stores will also feature an assortment of best-in-class Microsoft products, including Windows Phones, Feature Phones, Surface range as well as Windows, Microsoft Office 365 and more. The store will also offer an extensive line-up of Microsoft as well as third-party accessories to cater to different needs of Malaysian customers. Visitors to the store will also be able to experience the seamless integration across multiple screens through Microsoft’s devices, apps and services.

In conjunction with the launch of the new store, Microsoft will be carrying out several promotions and activities.

PR - May 27, 2015 - Ponemon Institute : Average Cost of Data Breach Reaches Record Levels

A report from Ponemn Institute that researched the cost of data breach. For a third year in a row, IBM and Ponemon Institute found that the average total cost of a data breach has increased 23% since 2013 to $3.79 million this year. The Cost of a Data Breach Study details that a single stolen record or lost piece of confidential data costs organizations an average of $154/record (up from $145 in 2014) or a 6% increase. The cost of breaches continues to rise due to three main factors:
  • The growing cost of losing business following a breach
  • Breach detection and escalation costs
  • Malicious or criminal attacks – especially since leaked data from a malicious attack costs $174/record versus breaches caused by human error ($134/record) or system glitches ($142/record).

PR - May 26, 2015 - Office Workers Continue to Behave Badly Despite Awareness of Cyber Threats

Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a market leader in enterprise security, today revealed the results of a global research study of across 11 countries that highlighted a global trend of employees ignoring cyber risks while at work.

Universally, workers continue to visit inappropriate websites while at work, despite typically being fully aware of the risks to their companies. This includes viewing adult content on work devices. China ranked the highest with nearly one in five (19 percent) employees admitting to viewing adult content at work, compared to Singapore and Australia at five percent and two percent respectively.
