The National ICT Industry Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) will lead a delegation of 60 ICT Industry leaders representing organisations from the private and public sectors, to both events.

In line with the theme of the event “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age: Building and Sharing the Digital Dream”, ASOCIO will launch their inaugural research report titled: Reimagining the Digital Era during the summit.

ASOCIO Chairman, David Wong Nan Fay said Asia Pacific’s strong and vibrant economy, favourable demographics, ICT investments, and ongoing economic integration have laid the foundation for the region to become a global leader in the digital economy.

“In this research report, we will be sharing the digital transformation plans of economies in Asia Pacific, key strategies as well as the importance of digital initiative in the region,” he said.

“Asia Pacific has the potential to be a leader in the digital economy and a true digital revolution will transform the region’s ICT sector in the near future,”.

Wong also said the ASOCIO ICT summit presents a rare opportunity for Malaysian delegates to learn emerging market trends and technologies and also network with the who’s who in the global ICT industry.

“The Summit offers a platform for the government and industry representatives to share knowledge and experience; develop closer business ties and more importantly identify new business opportunities,” he said.

He added the business matching and site-visits scheduled to take place include trips to the companies Tatung and Syscom Group to explore opportunities in the Smart Internet of Things and Robotics industries.

Delegates can also look forward to the ASOCIO/WITSA welcome reception party; Taipei Cultural Night, ASOCIO/WITSA ICT Excellence Awards and the ASOCIO networking event, said Wong.

Alex Sandy Pentland, known as the father of wearable computer, will speak on innovative applications of Big Data which show how Big Data Analytics of personal information can bring better public governance and increase economic growth.

Alan Marcus, senior director of World Economic Forum, will also deliver a presentation on Networked Readiness Index which measures the effective ICT usage including infrastructure, integrated applications, interactive services and service content.

Seats are still available, on a first-come-first-serve basis, for those interested to be part of the Malaysian delegation.
