Facebook Cambridge Analytical Issues Raised the Tech Start-up Bar

Facebook Mark Zukerberg appeared in U.S Congress to testify, explain and apologize for Facebook's shortcomings in the wake of the much publicized Cambridge Analytica Issues.

He apologized a couple of times and admitted that it is inherent for tech start-up to make mistakes, learn and grow.

I agree with Mr. Zukerberg in that the purpose of start-up companies is to explore ideas and business models which transcend conventional social-economic practices.

Nonetheless, the tech start-up community must learn and grow out this experience; Internet start-ups must now pay attention to address the following challenges.

  • Fake news
  • Foreign interference in election
  • Hate speech
  • Developer's data privacy
