PR - May 4, 2018 - New ThreatMetrix Report confirms nature of global cybercrime is morphing.

ThreatMetrix – a LexisNexis Risk Solutions company – released its Q1 2018 cybercrime report, which revealed the morphing nature of global cybercrime, triggered by the expanding worldwide circulation of breached identity information. The report is based on analysis of Q1-2018’s cybercrime attacks as seen across ThreatMetrix’s global network, which analyses 100+ million transactions a day.

Global cybercrime expansion is being driven by developing economies recently emerging as major perpetrators of fraud, creating new epicenters of cybercrime off the back of attacks that extend beyond their own borders into the surrounding region. Vietnam retained its position on the global top five list with attacks targeting Japan, Singapore and Australia.

Other Asia specific insights include:
  • Device spoofing remains the biggest attack vector in South East Asia.
  • High instance of identity spoofing, particularly in China and South East Asia, and predominantly targeting eCommerce merchants.
  • Strong transaction growth from Japan, with 420% increase in 3 years.
  • Strong growth in bot attacks from China targeting new account origination processes of large eCommerce merchants.
  • 60% growth in percentage of mobile transactions year-on-year – the highest growth of any region

PR - Apr 30, 2018 - SEOUL - LG G7 ThinQ Offers Unrivaled High Fidelity Audio.

LG Electronics’ (LG) upcoming premium smartphone will feature exceptional audio quality for users looking to enjoy their favorite music and movies on their headphones or smartphone speaker. Available for the first time in the LG G7 ThinQ, Boombox Speaker increases the base sound level by more than 6dB with twice the amount of bass.

When developing the LG G7 ThinQ, LG took into account that consumers today are increasingly using their smartphones in the home or while doing outdoor activities to listen to their favorite tunes. Many are choosing to use external Bluetooth speakers because they are not satisfied with the sound quality and volume from conventional smartphone speakers.

LG G7 ThinQ Boombox Speaker

With this feedback from consumers in mind, audio engineers at LG came up with a new way to utilize the inner space of the smartphone as a resonance chamber to amplify sound more than ten-fold compared to the typical smartphone. With Boombox Speaker, the LG G7 ThinQ is capable of generating impressive “boombox” sound without the need for external speakers. When placed on a solid surface or box, the LG G7 ThinQ uses its resonance chamber as a woofer to amplify the bass effect even more.
