Boost, the hot-headed e-wallet app was started as a digitization platform for telco services – prepaid SIM card reload etc. It is Malaysian homegrown and supported by Axiata Digital Services Sdn Bhd.

The Boost app is positioned as a lifestyle app cum e-wallet app, it offers the following core features:

Available to both iOS and Android platform, the Boost app is easy to setup and operate. Two key things are creating a login account (username and password) and registering a 6-digit pin for the wallet.

Once that is done, check out the digital shops for discount vouchers from a variety of famous brands, such as:
  • The Gamers – Boosts offers game credits top up for Steam Credits, Garena, MOL Points, Playstation, Asphalt8 and A-Cash.

Digital payment or cashless purchase is still pretty much in the infancy stage in Malaysia. This translates to a good prospect for e-Wallet providers although currently Boost app has achieved over 2.5 million active users - the core aim of cashless payment is to allow a faster, easier and more secure payment option for consumers.

To achieve greater adoption, Boost is actively recruiting touchpoints and exploring collaboration with new partners.

The latest addition to the list is the adoption of Boost digital payment by the KK Super Mart Convenience Chain Stores. This is a partnership which brings together two homegrown brands joining forces to further strengthen the offline retail network and encourage the transition of the retail industry into a cashless and cardless society.

In conjunction of this partnership, Boost will be offering RM10 cashback to customers paying using Boost at any KK Super Mart Convenience Chain Stores in Malaysia, with a minimum spend of RM20. This offer will run from 26 June until 25 August 2018.

According to Datuk Seri KK Chai, CEO of KK Super Mart, Boost complements KK Super Mart stores which operate 24x7 – cashless payment will benefit both the stores and the consumers in terms of convenience and security.
