Dimension Data is a major global system integrator who excels in providing hybrid IT solutions and managed services.
Started in 1983 as a shared services provider, Dimension Data has since moved up the value chain many times over. Today, it is a USD 8 billion company and is headquartered in Johannesburg and is a member of the NTT Group.
Though active globally, its presence in Malaysia and ASEAN is quite prominent.
On 5-Jul-2018, Dimension Data officially launched the Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) in Malaysia – the MCP is an enterprise grade cloud platform which serves as both infrastructure and platform-as-a- service targeting enterprise customers.
The core aim of the platform is to leverage on cloud computing technology to host traditional mission critical systems where high-availability, high-performance and high-resiliency is a not an option.
The MCP was designed with compliance and security as the core principals. Just think of it as a data centre fully managed by Dimension Data where enterprise clients deploy mission critical apps such as SAP HANA onto the cloud platform – it supports industry compliance, world-class application service-level-agreements and managed services.
In short, the MCP provides a value whereby enterprise customers get to deploy mission critical applications to a cloud platform that comes with managed services, fully compliance with industry standards operated by a trusted operator in which the data is hosted in Malaysia – and the customers need not invest a single cent onto the hardware.
On top of the MCP offering, Dimension Data provides end-to-end solution consulting, system migration and managed services at all stage of the project – from inception to post-sales support, helpdesk support and 24x7 technical support.
As of today, Dimension Data employs over 450 employees in Malaysia alone and is looking forward to hiring more talents both locally and globally.
Datuk Zainal Amanshah, CEO of InvestKL commended that the MCP offering carries three pillars of strength : size, substance and talent – the size of the market, substance of the service provider and the talent of Malaysians.
