Nov 7, 2018 - SG - Silver Peak Doubles Down on Global Partner Edge Program to Accelerate Partner Engagement, Enablement and Customer Acquisition

Silver Peak®, the global SD-WAN leader, today announced a range of sweeping enhancements to the company’s global Partner Edge program. In addition to onboarding seasoned channel executives to lead the organization forward, the company is making strategic investments to build the industry’s most robust and expansive SD-WAN partner program and equip partners to drive business opportunity and growth in a hyper-growth market that industry analyst firm IDC projects will exceed $8B USD in 2021.

After a thorough review, Silver Peak has aligned its Partner Edge program to be more predictable, while making incentives and value-added offerings easier to obtain for partners. The intent is to shift the focus toward being partner-first by offering clear and concise programs that maximize partner value. New programs include:
  • New Partner Tier Criteria: This foundational program will provide all partners with a clear path to understanding what is required at the Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers. Partners will clearly understand what is required at each tier, including up-front revenue and training objectives.
  • Partner Accelerators: This new program, available to Gold and Platinum partners, creates a set of Silver Peak incentives with the sole purpose of rewarding partners that focus on growth initiatives in selling the Unity EdgeConnect™ SD-WAN edge platform. Incentives will be introduced every 6 months and offered for a period of 6-to-12 months, enabling partners to plan ahead while opening new routes to expanded revenues.
  • Deal Edge: A new programmatic approach now available to Gold and Platinum partners, enables Silver Peak inside and field sales teams to pass active leads directly to partners in a highly collaborative manner.
Nov 5, 2018 - ShopBack’s Survey Reveals 11.11 Awareness Level Increased To 96% This Year

Leading Cashback platform ShopBack conducted a survey recently and found the awareness level towards 11.11 Singles’ Day among Malaysian online shoppers has grown to 96% this year, from 69% in 2016.

According to its Country General Manager Alvin Gill, Alibaba’s investment in Lazada and massive promotions rolled out via multiple online and offline channels, as well as education efforts done by reward partners throughout the years likely contributed to the awareness growth.

When asked to choose three online marketplaces that shoppers feel would provide the best 11.11 deals this year, Lazada emerged as the top choice, followed by Shopee and 11street. The survey also reveals that online shoppers prefer their shopping to be affordable, fast and safe.

Nov 5, 2018 - Kaspersky Lab : educational sites suffer rise in DDoS attacks in Q3

Kaspersky Lab experts noticed an overall decline in the number of DDoS attacks in the third quarter of 2018, which may be due to many bot owners reallocating the computing power of their bots to a more profitable and relatively safe way of making money: cryptocurrency mining.

Despite this, there’s still a risk of DDoS attacks causing disruption, where attackers not seeking financial gain. The Kaspersky Lab DDoS Q4 report marked a continued trend in attacks aimed at educational organizations, as they open their doors after a long summer and students head back to school.

Attackers were most active during the third quarter in August and September, proven by the number of DDoS attacks on educational institutions increasing sharply at the start of the academic year. This year, the most prominent attacks hit the websites of one of the UK’s leading universities – the University of Edinburgh – and the US vendor Infinite Campus, which supports the parent portal for numerous city public schools.

Kaspersky DDoS Protection combines Kaspersky Lab’s extensive expertise in combating cyberthreats and the company’s unique in-house developments. The solution protects against all types of DDoS attacks regardless of their complexity, strength or duration.
