Carbon Black has released its first ever Singapore Threat Report, revealing that 96% of Singaporean businesses have suffered a cybersecurity breach in the past 12 months.
Attacks are also increasing in volume and sophistication, with Singapore’s finance, manufacturing, engineering and F&B industries found to be the most hit.

- Ransomware is the most prolific attack type in Singapore, followed by Malware and Google Drive breaches
- Financial institutions witnessed the greatest growth in attack sophistication, and nearly two-thirds of businesses in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry have been breached three to five times in the last 12 months
- The Food and Beverage industry was found to be more likely than other sectors to suffer a phishing attack
- Cyber defence is a top priority and concern for Singapore organisations, with 97% of surveyed organisations planning to increase spending on cyber defence
- More than three-quarters (79%) of Singaporean organisations are actively threat hunting, and nearly all (94%) of them report that it has strengthened their defences against detrimental cyberattacks.
