 Jun 20, 2019 - SG - Getronics establishes Global Service Center in South Carolina

Global Information and Communications Technology services provider, Getronics, is establishing a new Global Service Center in Greenville County, South Carolina.

The 32-thousand square foot facility will house global service desk operations staffed with over 250 analysts and support personnel to provide 24/7/365 support to clients in Asia Pacific, North and Latin America and Europe. The new facility is part of the company’s global network of client support centers. The Greenville facility will eventually support up to 500 service desk associates.

Getronics has received industry recognition for its Managed Workplace Services and end-user support capabilities in North America and Europe. The company provides global support to over 500,000 technology end users in 55 countries. The Greenville Global Service Center will manage approximately 100,000 incidents annually in support of more than 250,000 client end users.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said that as a world-class company, the decision by Getronics to locate the high-tech operation in South Carolina is both an excitement and testament to South Carolina.

Indeed, it is quite rare for a global service center to be hosted at North America region.

Jun 18, 2019 - Subang Jaya - Differently-abled Malaysians can enjoy lifetime offers with Digi Postpaid Plans

In support of the persons with disabilities (PWD) community, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) is providing lifetime offers on its best value plans for differently-abled customers from as low as RM28 monthly for 6GB of data.


Customers with a valid Persons with Disabilities (OKU) card can enjoy a lifetime RM10 discount when they sign up for any Digi Postpaid plan, connecting them to what matters most at a more affordable price. All plans come with unlimited calls to all networks, and have been made available to PWD customers since 2012.

To enjoy this lifetime offer on Digi Postpaid, customers need only sign-up at any Digi Store with their original identity card (NRIC) and original OKU card. Third party registrations by family members or legal guardians can also be done by presenting the original NRIC or birth certificate and original OKU card of the differently-abled customer, and proof of legal guardianship of the person registering.

Jun 17, 2019 - Sophos Acquires Rook Security to Provide Managed Detection and Response

Sophos has acquired Rook Security, a leader in managed detection and response (MDR) with a team of 24/7 threat hunters. This will allow Sophos to create re-sellable MDR services by combining Rook Security’s threat detection, investigation and response capabilities with Sophos’ recently acquired DarkBytes technology platform and its Intercept X Advanced with EDR product.

The offering answers a critical market need for 24/7 monitoring and management of network security incidents for organizations lacking the expertise and resources to do so in-house. An around-the-clock team of threat hunters simplify the once difficult task of detecting and responding to security incidents.

Jun 17, 2019 - NEXEA Launches Startup-Corporate Pilot Program; Now Accepts Applications

NEXEA Angels Sdn. Bhd. (“NEXEA”), a leading startup investment firm today announced the launch of its Startup-Corporate Pilot Program that aims at bringing together local technology startups and corporations for the purposes of identifying and exploring potential collaborations among them.

The program is held in partnership major organizations namely Digi, HELP University, Rhombus Connexion and Spritzer. Through the program, startups will get an opportunity to explore pilot projects with these organizations, validate business with feedback from them, explore real-world product testing and build up traction by having these organizations as potential customers.

In addition, startups will also get support from mentors from NEXEA and have an opportunity to get funded by NEXEA and its co-investment partners. Startup-Corporate Pilot Program will start in July and run in parallel with NEXEA’s startup accelerator program.
