Jul 4, 2019 - Homage Adds to Leadership Team to Scale Up Home Care Platform and Build Community Partnerships 

Homage, an award-winning on-demand home caregiving services platform, in Singapore and Malaysia.

The organisation has announced major additions to its senior management team: Melissa Chan as Head of Community and Outreach and Honey Mittal as Chief Product Officer.

Melissa is the Founder of Project We Forgot, a network for caregivers to persons with dementia, that she started after her caregiving experience owing to her father's early on-set dementia.

Honey also serves as the Product Advisor at GIVEasia, Asia’s leading free fundraising platform that aims to ensure maximum social impact. He comes with a strong and successful experience in product development and management, from companies like Finnacel and Wego.

At Homage, Melissa and Honey will bring their knowledge and expertise, to participate in offering more personalised and holistic care for seniors that allows them to age with grace, control and dignity. With the new additions, the team plans to focus on increasing partnerships with ecosystem stakeholders and improving more features to Homage’s product to enhance the delivery and standard of care for its beneficiaries.

Jul 3, 2019 - HID Global Brings Reliable Biometrics Authentication to the Door with Launch of New Fingerprint Reader

HID announced new fingerprint reader that merges credential excellence with HID’s globally-patented multispectral imaging technology to address this issue and fuel broad adoption of biometrics at the door.

The high-performance iCLASS SE® RB25F fingerprint reader provides an unrivalled experience by dramatically increasing image capture performance and fingerprint matching in under a second, significantly reducing delays that were previously symptomatic of biometric solutions.

The powerful combination of HID’s highly reliable Lumidigm multispectral technology and the reader’s robust construction with IP67 and anti-vandal IK09 ratings now enables customers to deploy fingerprint authentication across a wide range of real-life environments.

The reader is also field-configurable over a network, and is designed to ease migration from traditional and existing fingerprint reader solutions.

Jul 3, 2019 - Subang Jaya -  Healthier Digi employees with dahmakan’s digital canteen

Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has teamed up with food delivery startup dahmakan to set up a ‘digital canteen’ on its premises for employees to get access to healthy, wholesome meals. This is part of the company’s efforts to digitise its workplace and take care of its employees’ wellbeing. The partnership makes Digi the first telco to kickstart a digital canteen with dahmakan.

dahmakan’s digital canteen is a mobile kiosk consisting of a tablet listing a wide array of healthy food choices, including vegetarian and low carb meals. These mobile kiosks have been set up in the common areas of Digi’s office to make it easy for employees to place food orders at a click of a button. A dedicated rider will then deliver lunch or dinner orders at the allocated times, and employees’ will be notified via SMS to pick up their orders when it arrives.

According to Jon Weins, CEO of dahMakan, the aim for the digital canteen is to help companies drive employee engagement within their organisations by delivering well-balanced meals to corporate workers without breaking their wallets.

Jul 2, 2019 - AIMS Data Centre Wins Frost & Sullivan 2019 Company of the Year Award for Cloud Infrastructure Service Industry

AIMS Data Centre (“AIMS”), Malaysia’s leading carrier-neutral data centre service provider, has been recognised with the Frost & Sullivan 2019 Company of the Year award in the Cloud Infrastructure Service Industry category.


AIMS is the host of Malaysia Internet Exchange (“MyIX”).

Ang Thing Jiun, Head of Technology said it is an honour for AIMS to be the first to be recognised in this new category of Cloud Infrastructure Service Industry.

This fintech service uses a proprietary algorithm developed by Money Design with Kyoto University, Japan which generates optimised portfolios of each investor based on their profile, individual income and risk appetite.

Using ‘AI Assist’, the algorithm analyses market sentiments from global news and market data towards sound investment risk control and solutions.


The investors’ money and assets are held by its custodian, Malaysian Trustees Berhad (a subsidiary of RHB Bank Bhd. and an independent trustee licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia) who is responsible for the custody services.

Jul 1, 2019 - SG - Singapore Government Announces Third HackerOne Bug Bounty Program to Reduce Risk, Boost Cybersecurity

HackerOne, the leading hacker-powered security platform, announces that it will partner with GovTech and Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) to work with "white hat" ethical hackers from around the world to further protect Singapore citizens by testing public-facing government systems.

This is HackerOne’s third bug bounty initiative with the Singapore Government, following successful prior programs with GovTech and MINDEF Singapore.

The bug bounty initiative will invite a select group of proven ethical hackers to test GovTech’s systems in exchange for a monetary reward, or bounty, for valid reported security weaknesses.

GovTech’s bug bounty program will run from July to August 2019 and will cover nine Internet-facing government digital services and information and communication technology systems with high user interaction. Roughly 200 proven international hackers and 100 local hackers will be invited to participate based on previous performance metrics on the HackerOne platform.

Bounties for this GovTech program will range from US$250 to US$10,000 per valid unique security vulnerability report, depending on severity. Results of the program will be announced in September 2019.
