Aug 2, 2019 - Yoodo Lights Up The Stage With One-Of-A-Kind Concert for Community

Yoodo, Malaysia’s first fully customisable and 100% digital mobile service celebrated its growing base of users through a special treat of a one-of-a-kind simultaneous on-ground and online concert experience.

The event saw thousands of Yoodo users join in the festivities on-ground as well as on Facebook live, to enjoy a night serenaded by the local indie musicians. The acts that lit-up the stage with their sensational performances were Modescape, An Honest Mistake, A.Ron, Battle Bloom, Nadhira and long-time local favourite Sevencollar T-Shirt.

Yoodo Presents Community Day

The event was held in conjunction with the culmination of the Yoodo Presents series. This event was Malaysia’s first interactive online concert series that began on 6th of June 2019 featuring streamed performance by bands every week. These sessions were a hit racking up close to a million views in total and allowing fans to interact directly with the bands and win exclusive Yoodo merchandise.

“Today’s event was a perfect reflection of Yoodo’s commitment in promoting local talents and bringing Yoodoers a memorable experience,” said Head of Yoodo, Chow Tuck Mun.

Aug 2, 2019 - Kaspersky : Number of users hit by financial malware grew by 7% in H1 2019 to reach 430,000

Kaspersky researchers have discovered 430,000 users faced malware aimed at stealing finances, cryptocurrencies and web-money services in the first half of 2019 – seven percent more than in the same period last year. Over a third (30.9%) of those affected are corporate users – double the figure discovered in the first half of 2018 (15.3%).

Corporate users:

Four-in-ten (40%) financial threats on corporate users came from the RTM banking Trojanone of the most dangerous types of banking malware for businesses in 2018. RTM is followed by the Emotet banking Trojan at 15%. This threat can be particularly damaging as once it gets inside the entity’s network perimeter, it can self-distribute through vulnerabilities in unpatched devices and then download extra threats onto the victim’s device. The Trickster banking Trojan rounds up the top three identified malware, with 12% of discovered threats.

Private users :

The list of malware that attempted to attack them is topped by Zbot malware (26%), which steals credentials with the option of remote control by threat actors, followed by RTM and Emotet (both mentioned above). Interestingly enough, in 2018 RTM was almost entirely aimed at organisations, while figures from the first half of 2019 show that this malware is now reaching a significant share of ordinary, domestic users.

Aug 1, 2019 - Hitachi Vantara Supports DataOps

DataOps can be represented by the framework of tools and culture that allow data engineering organizations to deliver rapid, comprehensive and curated data to their users.

One of the challenges of modern technology is data storage, and moreover, structuring that data storage for effective utility and analytics. Shockingly, a Harvard Business School study found that less than 1% of unstructured data is analysed or used at all. A key reason why is that less than half of data stored is useful as data management frameworks lack business focus and the data is not curated towards business decision making.

To help businesses deploy rapid, comprehensive and curated data to their users, Hitachi Vantara is applying their technologies to DataOps in four areas: the Hitachi Content Platform, Pentaho, Enterprise IT Infrastructure and REAN Cloud.

Aug 1, 2019 - London - UK AI RegTech, FNA, announces $5.5m Series A funding to drive global risk reduction

FNA today announces closure of a $5.5m Series A investment round led by IQ Capital, with participation from GETTYLAB. The funds will be used to further develop the FNA platform and solutions to help financial regulators and institutions operationalize advanced data analytics, identify fault lines in the financial system and prepare better for financial crisis and cyber threats.

Founded in 2013, FNA is a London-based RegTech and SupTech (Supervisory Technology) company that uses its network analytics, AI and machine learning platform to enable financial institutions to map and monitor complex financial systems, and to simulate operational and financial risks. FNA works with leading global regulators to better manage systemic risk, exchanges to understand risk concentrations and simulate operational risks, and payments platforms and banks to optimise liquidity and manage financial crime risks.

Due to continued client growth, the company plans to build on its global footprint, particularly in the US and Asia Pacific, and expand beyond its existing client base of central banks, regulators and FMIs (Financial Market Infrastructures). FNA sees rapidly increasing demand in sectors such as banking and national intelligence. Beyond team expansion, this investment will allow FNA to continue to invest in its core technology and enhance its already deep academic partnerships.
