Commvault launches Metallic™, a new SaaS backup and recovery brand

Date: 15-Oct-2019
Location: Singapore

Commvault has announced the launch of Metallic, a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio which simplifies backup operations for mid-market companies to protect their on-premises, cloud-based and hybrid file and application data.

Many customers are moving their applications and data to the cloud. Metallic is unique in that it allows customers to choose whether to backup using Metallic’s cloud storage or a mix of their own existing on-premises or cloud storage. Metallic customers are also able to seamlessly scale up regardless of whether they want to protect one terabyte or multiple petabytes and can start their first backup in 15 minutes.

Set to be a data protection game-changer, Metallic has affordable monthly or annual subscriptions in three offerings:
  • Metallic Core Backup & Recovery
  • Metallic Office 365 Backup & Recovery
  • Metallic Endpoint Backup & Recovery
On the same day at Commvault GO in Denver, Commvault also announced the appointments of Mercer Rowe as Vice President, Global Head of Channels & Alliances and Edison Peres as Strategic Advisor. These appointments come as the company embraces change and build an even stronger, world-class sales and go-to-market team.

The hiring of Rowe brings strong experience leading channel and alliance organisations to Commvault, while Peres will help Commvault accelerate its return to growth.
