MCMC ORGANISES SEMINAR ON OPPORTUNITIES IN NETWORKED CONTENT

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is organizing a half-day seminar on “Opportunities in Networked Content” in Cyberjaya on 10 July 2007. The event will be officiated by the Deputy Minister of Energy, Water and Communications, YB Dato’ Shaziman Abu Mansor at 9.00 a.m.

The seminar is part of capacity building initiatives to establish a constructive synergy between content creators, aggregators and government agencies to lift up the industry. The focus of the seminar is to attain the following objectives:

  • to create awareness, especially among aspiring content producers, of the promising prospect for the networked content industry.
  • to highlight the roles and initiatives of MCMC and other agencies in developing a vibrant local networked content industry.
  • to learn from the content experts (academicians, producers and distributors) about the current scenario and the recommended development strategy to be adopted collectively.

Topics will centre on the potential of the content industry as an important engine of growth and the impetus by relevant government agencies to create a vibrant local networked content industry. The content industry experts who have vast local as well as international exposure will be put on stage to recommend the viable path in developing the local networked content industry.

At the event, MCMC will also share the details about the RM20million Networked Content Development Grant (NCDG) which was launched by the Minister of MEWC in May 2007.
