The Kaspersky Lab study ‘Financial Cyber-Threats in 2014’ reports that 28.8% of phishing attacks in 2014 were intended to steal financial data from users. While carrying out their scams, cybercriminals have shifted their focus from bank brands to payment systems and online shopping sites.

For instance, in 2013, Cybercriminals used the names of well-known banks in 16.3% of attacks, the level of bank phishing was 22.2% - In 5.1% of cases, Kaspersky Lab’s protection technologies were triggered by phishing pages mentioning payment systems, which is 2.4 percentage points more than in 2013.

Nexusguard, the Worldwide Leader in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Security Solutions, today announces the opening of additional offices in London and Singapore. The offices will provide the necessary regional presence to operate Nexusguard’s premium fortified network solutions in the face of rapidly escalating attacks on businesses. The Singapore office will join the company’s Hong Kong office in bolstering regional support for Asian customers, while the London office is the first in a planned network roll out across Europe. This double opening of offices in Asia and Europe follows the announcement of Nexusguard’s recently opened headquarters in San Francisco to serve customers in the Americas and is indicative of the global demand for industrial protection against DDoS security threats, which are global and ever-growing.

In addition, Nexusguard has also released its 2015 Internet Security Trend report. The report findings show that DDoS attacks are prime to target the Internet of Things and could cost businesses millions. Experts estimate that a single attack can cost an organization from $52,000 to $52 million from the loss of contracts, damage to reputation, stock price as well as credit rating, and increased insurance premium, and with an ecosystem of still-developing protocols, a mass attack could be devastating to an individual user or an entire enterprise.

PR - Feb 11, 2015 - McAfee : 1 in 4 Singaporean men have flirtatious messages from others on their phones

A new 2015 Intel Security study found that less than 50% of Singaporeans always delete their intimate photos or videos after sharing them with intended recipients, while others only delete them if they remember or not delete them at all. Despite this, 69% of all survey respondents (including those in the US, Mexico, Brazil and Australia) say that they fear their personal or intimate content could one day be leaked or shared without their permission.

Other topline research highlights of the study into personal security sharing among couples across Singapore include:
  • 82% of Singapore respondents said they connect over WhatsApp followed by text messaging (77%) and phone calls (76%).
  • More than half of the Singapore respondents know their significant other’s Facebook password the most out of any social network or portal. This is a similar trend in the U.S (55%), Mexico (55%) and Brazil (76%). In Singapore, this is followed by mobile devices (47%) and personal email/computer (45%).
  • 1 in 4 of respondents claim to know their significant other’s bank or credit card portal/app password.
  • More males than females have something to hide on their phones: 25% of males indicated that if their partners were to get access to their mobile devices, they will find flirtatious messages VS only 14% of the females.
