Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) and Automation Anywhere, the global leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) co-hosted the first telco Botathon in Malaysia last week.
The Botathon allowed Digi employees to interact with software bots and Digital Workers from Automation Anywhere that work side-by-side with human workers to automate repetitive, daily tasks – liberating people to focus on higher-level business initiatives that only humans can provide. The initiative was part of Digi’s Innovation 360°efforts to encourage employees to digitally transform by providing them with various platforms to apply innovation to their work and opportunities to upskill and develop new competencies.
Through the Botathon, Digi and Automation Anywhere brought together technical personnel and Digi employees across the organisation who identified manual processes to automate with the help of bots and Digital Workers. Apart from automating processes, employee engagement was another key objective of the Botathon – enabling employees to unleash their creativity and take ownership of automating day-to-day tasks.
As part of the collaboration, Digi employees will have access to the Community Edition of the Automation Anywhere RPA software. This is in addition to training programmes and certifications from Automation Anywhere University to help them create Digital Workers.

DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, has expanded its presence in Asia by signing a long-term managed services agreement with Sime Darby Berhad. The agreement will enhance HR, Finance & Accounting and IT services across Sime Darby Berhad’s businesses in the industrial, motors, logistics and healthcare space.
As part of the agreement, DXC will acquire Sime Darby Global Services Centre (SDGSC), the captive in-house provider of its HR, Finance & Accounting and IT services. OPPO’s Reno 5G smartphone becomes the first commercial 5G smartphone available on market in Europe, as the company begins to sell Reno 5G smartphone in Switzerland in partnership with Swisscom.
The Reno 5G model features a full panoramic screen and innovatively conceals the front-facing camera, soft light and back flash within a Pivot-Rising Structure that rises on demand.
As a partner of Swisscom, OPPO also participated in Swisscom’s 5G launch event held on April 10th in Zurich, where Swisscom and OPPO announced the plans to bring the first commercially-available 5G device to Switzerland together with 5G network.
Having acquired spectrum, the Swisscom 5G network is expected to be successively rolled out in whole Switzerland by the end of 2019. Supporting the sub6 n78 band in Switzerland, OPPO’s Reno 5G will enable 5G connectivity wherever Swisscom 5G networks are available.
